THE
MARKETING PROGRAM
The Bukonzo Farmers Marketing Cooperative (BFMC) was created in
2005 with micro-finance support from Bukonzo Joint. BFMC helps farmers
find domestic and international buyers for their agricultural products,
mainly organic coffee, and sell their coffee at the best possible
price. In addition to coffee, some of the farmers grow and sell
smaller crops of maize, passion fruit, and pineapple. The Marketing
Cooperative is registered under the Uganda Ministry of Trade and
Industry, Registration No. 8563/RCS.
BFMC
was founded with 77 farmer-shareholders and now includes all BJCMF shareholders.
The Bukonzo Farmers Marketing Cooperative has two members who sit on the BJCM
board. BFMC is a member of NUCAFE, a national agribusiness union, and EAFCA,
the East Africa Fine Coffee Association.
From 2005 to 2010, coffee production by BFMC farmers increased substantially -- from about 13 tons in 2005, to more than 300 tons in 2010. At the same time BFMC coffee farmers have put an even greater emphasis on quality control and the importance of jointly marketing their product. BFMC sells its coffee in Africa, the United States, England and anywhere in the world people enjoy superior coffee. We are experienced in exporting BFMC coffee to international buyers and we are always seeking new market opportunities. Please contact us if you are interested in importing our extremely high-quality Uganda Rwenzori Natural Arabica coffee.
