WEMAN AND GALS WORKSHOPS
Gender inequality and the lack of full participation by women in
decision making and financial planning for family businesses are key
contributors to poverty in Uganda and throughout the world. To address
this critical issue, Bukonzo Joint hosts workshops in Women's
Empowerment Mainstreaming and Networking (WEMAN) and Gender Action
Learning Systems (GALS). Both the WEMAN and GALS workshops are supported by Oxfam Novib, the Netherlands. .

FAMILY & CHILDREN PROTECTION

Bukonzo Joint is a strong advocate for the prevention of domestic violence.
The Cooperative works closely with its members and community leaders to build awareness of applicable laws and stop family violence and its causes.

RURAL ELECTRIFICATION

To help our farmers to increase their profits, and to bring an array of other advances to the community, Bukonzo Joint has been instrumental in lobbying the government to bring electricity to the village of Kyarumba where we're headquartered. The introduction of electrical lines will enable the Cooperative operate processing machinery and bring numerous technological improvements that maximize the potential for our farmers to get a fair price for their coffee.
